Overview
Responsible for maintaining an accurate and complete chargemaster to ensure appropriate reimbursement and compliance with governmental billing regulations. Assists with establishing and administering all procedures and policies related to Chargemaster maintenance. Requires maintaining excellent working relationships with clinical representatives, as well as generating business communications and conducting group presentations to effectively convey financial information to staff members and educate colleuges across the system.
Bachelor's degree in HIM/HIT preferred or equivalent experience plus CCS/CCA/CCP coding certification and/or RHIA/RHIT. The ideal candidate will have a clinical background with strong project management, analytical and problem-solving skills. In addition to proven leadership and management skills, this position requires 3-5 years of chargemaster or charge capture experience including expertise in coding, billing, collections and related activities.

Extensive knowledge of CPT/HCPCS/UB-04 revenue coding, modifiers, CMS billing regulations, APCs
Good understanding of the CDM relationship to related areas such as the General Ledger, Cost Accounting, Revenue Cycle, Coding and Budget
In depth knowledge of complex outpatient procedure terminology
Strong quantitative, analytical and organizational skills
Proficiency in chart review and clinical record information and coding methodologies
Ability to understand and interpret medical records and hospital bills
Ability to understand ancillary department functions
