FirstLight Home Care of Minneapolis West & South Metro is a growing company with part-time caregiver positions available IMMEDIATELY. Positions can grow into full-time with proven reliability and attendance. Shift preference will be given to employees who have more availability and who complete training and onboarding processes quickly and are ready to work.
Job Title: Caregiver (Home Care)
Job Status: Part-time, Hourly (Non-Exempt)
Schedule: Part-time, daytime hours, EO weekend, and holidays as needed; more details discussed in interview.
Compensation: Starting at $18/hr. Candidates who are highly qualified, experienced, have flexibility in working hours and locations, and demonstrate a pattern of good attendance and reliability are eligible for higher pay. Those with a valid CNA registration with the state of MN start at $20/hr.

The ideal candidate will play a crucial part in improving the quality of life for our clients and making a positive difference in their lives.
Location:
Blaine, Columbus, and surrounding areas. FLHC is a growing company bringing on new clients regularly, therefore, employees are needed!
Working hours: Based on company and client need, hours vary, employees with more flexibility receive more hours.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities vary based on company and client needs. Below is a summarized list and does not include ALL responsibilities required.
- Provide one-on-one care in a client's home or place of residence.
- Provide care and assistance with activities of daily living including but not limited to:
- Bathing, grooming, dressing
- Toileting and incontinence care
- Assistance with mobility / transfers
- Meal and snack preparation and feeding
- Medication assistance
- Sorting/organizing mail and assisting with bill paying
- Monitor and record the client's physical condition, behavioral changes, and medication use.
- Report changes in the client's condition to the RN and office.
- Perform light household chores such as laundry and housekeeping to keep the client's environment safe and clean. Maintain a safe and comfortable environment.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to the client.
- Respect the client's rights and maintain confidentiality.
- Provide transportation to assist with client errands, grocery shopping, and as requested and needed.
- Other duties as needed and assigned.
Requirements and Experience:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- CNA Certification (Preferred)
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
- Experience with memory care (dementia and/or Alzheimer's)
- 1 year of caregiving employment experience
- MUST HAVE: Reliable transportation to and from work
- MUST HAVE: Valid driver's license AND Valid Auto Insurance
- MUST HAVE: Reliable mobile phone with active service (for documentation & communication)
- MUST HAVE experience with Hoyer lifts and other lifts.
- MUST beable and availabletocomplete online (paid) training within 5 days
- MUST Complete: (All items ASAP in order to start position IMMEDIATELY)
- 14 (paid) Hours of online training (completed remotely)
- TB TEST
- Fingerprints (as required based on background check)
- Onsite Orientation
Qualifications/Skills:
- Maintain professional appearance
- Ability to perform BOTH personal care and companion care.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing, including English fluency and understanding.
