FirstLight is currently seeking a candidate to work within our System Engineering department, which supports our multitenant cloud services. We are seeking a proactive problem-solver with deep expertise in system engineering and enterprise VMware environments.
The right candidate will be part of a tight knit, customer focused, and highly collaborative team that emphasizes knowledge sharing and skills development.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support and maintain our multi-tenant VMware cloud stack.
- Strong experience with VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, and other technologies involved in the vCloudFoundation such as vCloudDirector.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Tier 2 escalations
- Participate in the research and development on the latest virtualization technologies tools, and capabilities as well as other emerging infrastructure capabilities in conjunction with our Infrastructure and Architecture teams.
- Create and maintain documentation and templates.
- Contribute to excellent customer service, communication, process support, and accountability.
- Strong technical background and understanding of supporting enterprise technologies
- Proven experience in managing and supporting VMware environments
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose complex system issues
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams
- Strong communication and documentation skills
Required Technology Skills
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with architecture, implementation, and support of mixed Microsoft and Linux environments with the following technologies.
