Job Title: Director of Accounting
Location: Norwood / Westwood area (Hybrid)
Compensation: Up to $200K annual salary plus bonus, equity, and benefits
Scope of Position / Responsibilities
This experienced senior accounting / finance professional will drive growth as they build the infrastructure and systems needed to support company level commercialization efforts. This role will report to senior management and will leverage deep technical accounting, and financial close experience to build financial systems and controls in preparation for the IPO. This person will help lead the upgrade of processes, controls, and reporting procedures to inform management’s decision making and to feed SEC reporting cycles.
The core responsibilities of this role will be to manage day-to-day accounting operations. This includes the month end close process, quarterly and annual financial statement preparation, the year-end financial statement audit, treasury, accounts payable, stock compensation management, and other ad hoc projects as needed. In addition, this role will be a key member of the company’s management team who will have the opportunity to contribute as it grows.
- Lead internal and SEC financial close and reporting
- Be the primary technical accounting expert to document customer, partner, and vendor contracts and transactions
- Ensure quality control over financial reporting and financial transactions
- Assist with the development and documentation of business processes and policies
- Continuous improvement of quality and efficiency of systems, processes, and internal controls
Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree is preferred)
- CPA certification with a foundation in top tier public accounting
- Targeting 10 years of professional accounting/audit and finance experience
- Experience supporting a pre-IPO organization, ideally within the technology or manufacturing industry
- Strong background within technical accounting and SEC reporting
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
