firstPRO inc. is looking for a Director of Data Engineering & Architecture for our client in Burlington, NJ.
This is a full time direct hire opportunity.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement a global data architecture strategic roadmap aligned with business objectives.
- Create global architecture for data warehouse using cloud technologies in anticipation of global and BU specific reporting needs and insights, business process automation and future AI/ML uses.
- Own the migration to the new models.
- Working with the VP of development, architect the modernization of APIs/integrations using integration tools and platforms to connect the underlying transaction systems.
- Define the handoff between BU/functional business analysts and the Technology team analysts for corporate vs BU reporting and dashboarding.
- Manage the reporting and dashboarding tooling and infrastructure.
- Define a global, in consideration of the multiple BUs, model for the data team.
- Lead and manage the data team.
- Recommend improvements and direction for visualization tools.
- Play an integral role in the modernization of other applications including ERP, CRM, Digital commerce etc.
- Suggest changes to data taxonomy and PIM systems to improve performance, accuracy and consistency to improve data reliability.
- Must have familiarity pulling data from enterprise technologies and assimilating into useable data models for efficient reporting and integration.
- Optimize data pipelines, ETL processes, and performance tuning for large-scale data environments.
REQUIREMENTS
- College degree or equivalent preferred
- 10 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise architecture, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Expertise in modern data architectures, including data lakes, data warehouses, and data mesh/lakehouse models.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS,Azure) and data services (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Redshift).
- Deep understanding of SQL, NoSQL, and relational database management systems (RDBMS).
- Experience in the following are a plus
- PowerBI, Salesforce, Solego, Netsuite, Profit 21/Epicor, Filemaker, Elastic Search
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
