Forklift Operator

Position Overview:

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Forklift Operator/Carpentry Laborer to join our team. This individual will play a key role in ensuring smooth operations on the job site by safely operating forklifts, assisting in material handling, and providing general labor support in carpentry-related tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience in both forklift operation and construction labor, particularly in the carpentry field.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate forklifts to load, unload, and move materials around the job site or warehouse.
• Ensure proper stacking and organization of materials for easy access.
• Assist carpenters with various tasks including measuring, cutting, assembling, and installing wooden structures and frameworks.
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance on forklifts to ensure they are in safe operating condition.
• Assist in lifting, carrying, and securing materials on job sites as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness on job sites, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
• Follow safety protocols and report any hazards or unsafe conditions immediately.
• Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet project deadlines.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and other carpentry equipment effectively and safely.
• Provide general labor support for other construction or carpentry-related duties as needed.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience operating forklifts in a construction or warehouse setting.
• Familiarity with carpentry tools, techniques, and materials.
• Ability to follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
• Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
• Forklift certification (preferred) or ability to obtain certification within a specified period.
• Experience with general construction or carpentry labor (preferred).

Working Conditions:

• Standing, bending, and lifting throughout the workday.
• Use of safety equipment such as gloves and steel-toe boots.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
