We are an industry leading plastics packaging company that produces high-quality plastics and containers. We are looking for an Industrial Mold Process Lead who can oversee the daily production activities of our injection molding plant, ensure quality standards, and motivate our team of operators and technicians. Maintain all facets of injection molding machines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing processes, particularly in plastics injection molding This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can effectively operate machinery, perform quality inspections, and ensure that production standards are met. The Technician will play a crucial role in maintaining efficient operations and contributing to the overall success of our manufacturing facility.
Responsibilities
- Monitor molding downtime and plugged cavities. Develop action plans to reduce downtime and regain plugged cavities.
- Identify training opportunities among the molding staff and assist in elevating their skills sets; develop the Molding Accessories operator to be able to fill in the absence of the Molding Tech assigned to the Cartridge side.
- Work closely with QA and develop an action plan to address any negative process trends
- Audit to ensure all molds in a production ready state and all molds completed to PM schedule
- Schedule mold repairs and change overs as needed. Track any mold components purchased
- Manage a mold data base / list track updates, modifications, spare parts list and other relevant information.
- Participate and or lead SMED, 5S and other improvement activities
Qualifications
- Proven experience in plastics injection molding processes is preferred.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing techniques is a plus.
- Strong skills in assembly, materials handling, and quality inspection practices.
- Proficient in using hand tools and measuring devices such as micrometers.
- Experience operating press brake machines is advantageous.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
