What does a successful SQL Developer do at Fiserv? 

Join our team at Fiserv, where you'll play a key role in developing and optimizing SQL databases that power our cutting-edge payment solutions. You'll design tables, write and test code, and create stored procedures, views, and functions to enhance performance and scalability. What you will do: 

• Design, develop, and optimize SQL database solutions to support business needs.
• Create and refine stored procedures, functions, and queries using T-SQL for maximum efficiency.
• Analyze and improve existing SQL queries to enhance performance and scalability.
• Build and maintain ETL processes using SSIS to ensure seamless data integration.
• Collaborate with business partners and analysts to understand data requirements and translate them into effective database designs.
• Develop scripts and procedures for data migration and transformation.
• Prepare clear and concise technical documentation, including design specifications, implementation plans, and test cases.
• Communicate database structures and best practices to team members for effective implementation.

What you will need to have: 

• Bachelor's Degree (preferably Computer Science or Engineering) or equivalent combination of experience, education and military. 
• 4–6 years of experience in programming principles, methods, and technologies.
• 3-5 years of SQL programming experience, including writing and optimizing complex queries.
• Experience with data management tools such as enterprise repositories, data modeling, data quality, and data mapping tools.
• Proficiency in ETL development and data integration processes.
• Ability to analyze and optimize database performance for efficiency and scalability.
• Experience designing and implementing database structures to support business applications.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues.

What would be great to have: 

• Experience working with geographically dispersed teams.
• Background in the financial industry or payment processing.

Salary Range:

These pay ranges apply to employees in Maryland. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ. Certain Positions are Commissions eligible.
