Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing budgets, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, as well as proficiency in accounting software and tools. The Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting the financial health of our organization.
Duties
- Maintain and update financial records, including journals, ledger, and trial balance.
- Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded and categorized.
- Prepare and maintain ledger entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements and verify transactions.
- Manage Accounts Payable Clerk (located in Colombia)
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow).
- Prepare management reports for internal use, highlighting key financial information.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and monitor budget performance.
- Provide financial forecasts and analyze variances between actual and projected results.
- Implement procedures to safeguard financial assets.
- Identify trends and discrepancies to recommend financial improvements.
- Utilize accounting software to maintain records, generate reports, and perform accounting tasks. Ensure the system and software are up to date and properly maintained.
- Forecast future cash needs and identify opportunities to optimize cash management.
- Other duties and tasks assigned by reporting manager.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, required.
- Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping or related accounting experience, required.
- General knowledge of the trucking industry, preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong communication skills to effectively convey financial information.
- Excellent customer service.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish, preferred.
