Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing budgets, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, as well as proficiency in accounting software and tools. The Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting the financial health of our organization.

Duties

• Maintain and update financial records, including journals, ledger, and trial balance.
• Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded and categorized.
• Prepare and maintain ledger entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Reconcile bank and credit card statements and verify transactions.
• Manage Accounts Payable Clerk (located in Colombia)
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow).
• Prepare management reports for internal use, highlighting key financial information.
• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and monitor budget performance.
• Provide financial forecasts and analyze variances between actual and projected results.
• Implement procedures to safeguard financial assets.
• Identify trends and discrepancies to recommend financial improvements.
• Utilize accounting software to maintain records, generate reports, and perform accounting tasks. Ensure the system and software are up to date and properly maintained.
• Forecast future cash needs and identify opportunities to optimize cash management.
• Other duties and tasks assigned by reporting manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, required.
• Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping or related accounting experience, required.
• General knowledge of the trucking industry, preferred.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
• Strong communication skills to effectively convey financial information.
• Excellent customer service.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish, preferred.
