Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Early Career Safety Professional to join our team. We are a heavy civil contractor that works throughout the KY/TN area and requires full time dedicated safety professionals on our sites. Travel is required. Lodging and Per diem offered when working away from home. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with safety regulations and promoting a culture of safety within our organization. This position requires expertise in construction management, risk management, and occupational health to effectively manage safety protocols on construction sites.
Duties
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections on construction sites to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on safety practices, emergency response procedures, and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate with project managers to integrate safety management into construction planning and execution.
- Analyze incident reports and conduct investigations to determine root causes of accidents or near misses, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of safety training, incidents, inspections, and compliance documentation.
Experience
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and regulations as they apply to construction sites.
- Experience or education in risk management and construction practices
- Communication skills with the ability to effectively train employees at all levels on safety protocols.
- A proactive approach to identifying potential hazards and implementing preventive measures is essential.
