Job Summary
The Heavy Equipment Operator will be responsible for operating diverse machinery such as skid steers, loaders, dozers, crushers, or excavators according to project specifications.
This position requires occasional travel.
Main Responsibilities
- Efficiently operate equipment to meet production goals.
- Assist with setting up and tearing down plants as needed.
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and services on equipment as required or directed by supervisor.
- Maintain daily housekeeping of equipment and plants.
- Lift objects weighing 80 pounds regularly.
- Use shovels to move materials as necessary.
- Adhere to safety guidelines set by M.S.H.A. and company policy.
- Perform pre-shift inspections on equipment before startup.
- Prioritize safety above all else and comply with company policies and standards.
- Complete other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Candidates must be at least 18 years old.
- Able to operate equipment efficiently to meet project specifications.
- Basic mechanical knowledge of equipment and ability to perform routine maintenance.
- Understanding of basic welding techniques and use of a cutting torch.
- Meet Fisher's Company Vehicle Program requirements.
- Hold MSHA part 46 and/or part 48 certification or be willing to obtain it (company will cover costs).
- Ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Pass a pre-employment drug test.
- Collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Occasional travel is required.
