Heavy Equipment Operator
Job Summary
The Heavy Equipment Operator will be responsible for operating various types of heavy equipment including skid steer, loader, dozer, crusher, and excavator according to project specifications. Daily servicing and maintenance of equipment are also required.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate equipment efficiently to maintain production goals
- Assist with setup and tear down of plants
- Perform general maintenance, repair, and service equipment as required or directed by supervisor
- Conduct daily housekeeping of equipment and plants
- Lift objects weighing up to 80 lbs on a regular basis
- Use shovels to move material when necessary
- Comply with safety guidelines set by M.S.H.A. and company policy
- Perform pre-shift inspections on equipment prior to startup
- Safety should always be the top priority
- Complete other tasks assigned by supervisor
Requirements
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old
- Able to operate equipment efficiently to maintain project specifications
- Mechanical knowledge of equipment and ability to perform routine maintenance
- Basic knowledge of welding and using a cutting torch
- Acceptable MVR in accordance with Fisher's Company Vehicle Program policy
- MSHA part 46 and/or part 48 certification or willingness to obtain certification (company will pay for certification)
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions including heat above 100 degrees, cold, rain, and snow
- Pass a pre-employment drug test
- Work well in a team environment
- Travel may be required
