The Opportunity :
Join us as an Azure Data Platform Operations Specialist, where you will play a critical role in managing our Azure data and analytics ecosystem. This includes overseeing tools such as Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, ADLS, and Azure ML / AI. Your expertise will ensure the systems operate smoothly, maintaining performance and uptime. As a key technical resource, you will collaborate with various teams, including business line reporting, Technology Business Services, and third-party vendors.
The Day-to-Day :
- Collaborate with stakeholders in Infrastructure, Operations, and Information Security to guarantee seamless and secure operations of our Azure data and analytics platform, including Azure Synapse, ADF, Azure ML / AI, and Power BI.
- Manage the Azure data warehouse and analytics platform from implementation and maintenance to enhancements and operational oversight.
- Oversee the management of data pipelines, job schedules, and systems to optimize performance and uptime.
- Keep current and comprehensive platform documentation while providing technical support to database, application, and Business Intelligence (BI) developers.
- Handle maintenance and troubleshooting for the data warehouse and BI platforms on Azure, resolving issues efficiently.
- Ensure that metadata for all data objects in the platform is accurately tracked via a data catalog.
- Conduct system monitoring and performance analysis regularly.
- Perform security control audits and reviews to maintain compliance.
- Review application logs to identify potential issues and areas for improvement.
- Engage in capacity planning, cloud cost analysis, and resource optimization.
- Provide after-hours support as needed.
- Develop and execute work plans for various projects.
