General Maintenance Engineer
Summary :
General Maintenance Technician's primary responsibility is checking, repairing and servicing machinery, equipment, systems and infrastructures. General Maintenance engineers ensure that industrial machinery and equipment operate smoothly and reliably. Troubleshoot and perform basic repair on all types of equipment (e.g., pump and motor replacement), plumbing (e.g., plunge toilets and unclog drains), electrical equipment including lamps, cosmetic items, extension cords, vacuum cleaners, internet devices, replace electrical switches and outlets, and other guestroom / venue items. Program TV's and perform general housekeeping and engineering-related duties. Assist with surface preparation and painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, light bulb and A / C filter replacement and the complete and thorough cleanup of the painting or repair area.

Nature and Scope :
- The incumbent reports directly to the Director of Engineering. The major trust of the position is to maintain company assets in excellent operating order.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that equipment is operating smoothly, building systems operate efficiently and the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorateRepair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools and reassemble equipmentDiagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessaryAdhere to the preventative maintenance program for the equipmentUse the Lockout / Tagout system before performing any maintenance workPerform maintenance work orders in a timely manner to maintain guest satisfactionMaintain work areas clean and orderly including storage rooms and the Engineering Dept. work areaEnsure uniform and personal appearances are clean and professional; maintain personal hygiene, cleanliness throughout work shiftConsults with the Director of Engineering for work orders, repairs and tools needed to perform required tasksRepresent Club values daily : Integrity, Professionalism, Teamwork, Quality, Leadership, and AppreciationFollow all company and safety and security policies and procedures.Report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents or injuriesProperly store flammable materialsMaintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assetsInteract positively with members / guests; smile, eye contact, offer assistanceMaintain good communication and work relationships in all areas of the clubMaintain work area clean and orderly; clean spills, protect furniture, rugs etc. of work debrisInspect Club areas report work / repairs needed as deemed necessaryRemain calm and alert, especially during emergency and critical operational work periodsMinimum Qualifications :
High school diploma or GED is requiredPost-Secondary Certificate (Vocational Construction Trades, Mechanics and Repairers, Precision Production Trades) is preferredMinimum of two to three years' experience as a General Maintenance Engineer in a large size (250 rooms) high volume luxury hotel or resortElectrician experience is requiredLicenses and Special Permits :
