This position requires a high level of physical fitness, attention to safety protocols, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ordering supplies as needed.
The role also involves operating heavy machinery, such as forklifts, safely and efficiently, performing manual material handling tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs regularly, and working in physically demanding outdoor conditions for extended periods.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on construction equipment.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and estimate repair costs.
- Order supplies and materials as needed.
- Operate heavy machinery, such as forklifts, safely and efficiently.
- Perform manual material handling tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs regularly.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Prior experience in material handling, warehouse, or yard operations preferred.
- Basic knowledge of diesel equipment maintenance and electrical equipment maintenance is a plus.
- Ability to perform repairs to flatbed trailers, brakes, airlines, etc.
- Experience operating heavy machinery, such as forklifts (certification a plus).
- Welding experience is required.
