General Summary:
To perform cardiac ultrasound procedures of a professional level on all patient population serviced by the Hospital. Responsible for the safety, mental and physical comfort of the patient.
Essential Functions:
- Performs complete study including REAL TIME, 2D- M-MODE, COLOR FLOW MAPPING, DOPPLER,trans-esophageal, Stress Echo.
- Obtains permanent records of examination.
- Contributes professional knowledge via sonographer worksheet and verbal communication with cardiologist.
- Daily Record of Report Timeliness.
- Attends all required Safety Training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, specific job related hazards.
- Follows the Hospital Exposure Control Plans/Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens.
- Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.
- Promotes effective working relationships and works effectively as part of a department/unit team inter and intra departmentally to facilitate the department's/unit's ability to meet its goals and objectives.
- Prepares patients for examination and explains procedure to patients while performing studies.
- Correlates clinical history with the test to be performed.
- Maintains work area.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
