JOB TITLE: DIE ROOM OPERATOR I
GRADE: 4 LEVEL (If applicable): 1
DEPARTMENT: CONDUCTOR
REPORTS TO: DIE ROOM SUPERVISOR
POSITION SUMMARY: Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators.
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify dies, jigs, gauges, and tools, using machine tools and hand tools.
- Inspect finished dies for smoothness, contour conformity, and defects.
- Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators.
- Compiles and maintains records of quantity, type, and value of material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies stocked in establishment.
- Counts material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies in stock and posts totals to inventory records, manually or using computer.
- Compares inventories to office records or computes figures from records, such as sales orders, production records, or purchase invoices to obtain current inventory.
- Verifies clerical computations against physical count of stock and adjusts errors in computation or count or investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

LEVEL 1 DESCRIPTION:
- Requires some supervision.
- Ability to set up machine according to SOP.
- Ability to operate machine according to SOP.
- Ability to use measurement tools in process.
- Ability to use Axis system for product entry.
- Demonstrates teamwork.
- Ability to complete general machine maintenance checklist.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience handling, organizing and tracing inventory.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must have competent verbal and written communication skills to communicate with others and comprehend work instructions.
- Basic computer skills required
Physical Demands:
- Light to moderate physical effort required.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Regularly required to sit or stand, reach and move about the facility.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Safety Glasses must be worn at all times.
- Steel toe safety shoes must be worn at all times
- Ear plugs must be worn when appropriate
- Safety gloves must be worn when handling chemicals
- Other personal protection equipment as necessary
