POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Student Engagement and Organizations is a key member of the Division of Student Affairs, dedicated to fostering a dynamic, inclusive, and engaging campus environment. This role involves supporting the growth and success of student organizations, enhancing leadership development, and contributing to a holistic student experience. The Director works to design and implement diverse programs and activities that empower students, cultivate leadership skills, and strengthen community connections.
In this role, the Director provides strategic support to student organizations, oversees leadership development initiatives, and builds partnerships with campus and community stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Student Organization Support:

- Manage the application, approval, and training processes for new student organizations.
- Provide training and guidance to student organizations in planning events, initiatives, and community service projects.
- Conduct regular leadership training for executive members of student organizations.
- Ensure compliance with University policies, the professional development andservice learning hours requirments
- Support the planning and execution of leadership conferences, summits, and student events.
- Supervise students at conferences, off-campus activities, and service events.
- Collect and analyze data to assess training effectiveness, event participation, and campus trends, culminating in an annual report.
- Create and manage marketing materials for social media and other platforms to promote programs and initiatives.
- Oversee dissemination of resources and information through newsletters, event calendars, and e-blasts.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
Advising & Collaboration:
- Advise the Fisk Activities Board
- Advise Student Election Committee
- Co-Advise Greek Life
- Co-Advise Student Government Association
- Collaborate with campus departments to enhance opportunities for student involvement
Other Duties:
- Support New Student Orientation programming.
- Attend professional conferences and represent the University as needed.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Vice President of Student Affairs

Education: Must have a minimum of a master’s degree.
Experience:
- Skills include interpersonal, organizational, and writing skills. Must be very detailed-oriented.
- Must have a good sound judgment of decision making and be able to do multiple tasks.
- Experience with managing student organizations and events
- Ability to collaborate effectively with students, faculty, staff and community stakeholders
