Description
POSITION SUMMARY : Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Library Services, provides leadership, management, direction, oversight for all aspects of Special Collections and Archives. Responsible for formulating policies and goals for the administration of the department, and the supervision of Special Collections and Archives staff, student workers, and volunteers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Administers the operation, function, and services of Special Collections
- Engages in collection development and management in accord with current Collection Development policies
- Secures outside funding through gifts and grants
- Prepares reports, bibliographies, brochures, and press releases
- Assists with the supervision of the Special Collections Reading Room
- Answers reference questions via email, phone, and in-person
- Provides instructional sessions for faculty / staff and students
- Attends and participates in outside workshops and meetings
- Gives lectures on the department and its collections
- Prepares and / or assists with displays, library programs, and community projects
- Engages in research and writing
- Maintain collections ensuring they are preserved, organized, and properly housed

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Education : Master's degree from ALA-accredited school of Library and Information Science
