The credit analyst would join the Operational Risk team within the North American Residential Mortgage Backed Securities (RMBS) group. The Operational Risk team supports the RMBS group by providing value-added opinion on key counterparts, such as mortgage servicers, originators and aggregators. The role offers the opportunity to work directly with senior executives and staff at major mortgage servicers, originators and aggregators.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $150,000 and $175,000 per year. Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base pay is one part of Fitch’s total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.

About the Team
The credit analyst would join the Operational Risk team within the North American Residential Mortgage Backed Securities (RMBS) group. The Operational Risk team supports the RMBS group by providing value-added opinion on key counterparts, such as mortgage servicers, originators and aggregators. The role offers the opportunity to work directly with senior executives and staff at major mortgage servicers, originators and aggregators.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Lead and manage operational risk reviews, primarily for residential mortgage loan servicers, including preparing and presenting recommendations to a formal credit committee within set timelines.
- Produce quality internal and external written reports, including credit committees, press releases, rating reports, special reports and market commentary.
- Communicate effectively Fitch’s rating assessment and rating criteria externally.
- Manage key relationships while engaging with senior management at the covered firms.
- Requires approximately 15-20% travel within the U.S. and Canada.
- Ideal candidate will have a BA/BS with a minimum of 5 years of experience in U.S. residential real estate lending or servicing, and conducting operational risk assessments.
- Understanding of RMBS and role of RMBS servicers.
- Must have strong communication, presentation and writing skills.
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills as role requires managing multiple projects.
- Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel and Word.
- Ability and willingness to be flexible when priorities change.
- Direct experience in residential mortgage loan servicing.
