Requirements: 

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1 year experience with extrusion machines or injection molding
• Non-woven experience (preferred)

Summary(What/Why/Coverage)-Main   Activities: 

The Extrusion Operator is responsible for full operation of the co-extrusion machines and assisting with working the extrusion machine and maintaining proper housekeeping of the extrusion area.

Technical   Competencies:

• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to understand and interpret process settings and center lines.
• Ability to use a calculator.
• Ability to learn and become proficient with MES, Paylocity, and other database and tracking software.
• Ability to read/interpret Fitesa product codes, production schedules, and operations documents.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills and good mechanical abilities. 

· Ability to apply basic math skills.

· Ability to read and interpret measurements in standard and metric systems.

· Statistical analysis skills with the ability to audit against goals.

Key Responsibilities(What/How):

Operations:

• Follow all Simpsonville site safety rules.
• Performs set ups, startups, and shutdowns of co extruders and center lines.
• Monitoring the operation of co-extruders, changing filters as needed.
• Assist in startup and shutdown activities for extrusion lines.
• Assist in product transitions on extrusion lines.
• Monitors raw material feeding and dosing for extrusion lines.
• Manages and stages reclaim material.
• Complete shift reports on centerline parameters and production numbers.
• Manage the flow of material into the co-extruders.
• Follow the standards for type and amount of material to feed into the co-extruders.
• Communicate problems and issues to appropriate resources in a timely manner.
• Communicate with off-going and on-coming extrusion operators to ensure proper handoff.
• Provide coverage during absence of other shift operators.
• Assist in down day activities per workflow leader instructions.
• Assist other team members as needed. 
• All other duties as assigned.

Quality:

• Inspects raw material for contamination and ensures quality before feeding into co-extruder.
• Ensure quality and productivity standards are met.
• Maintain work area to OLA/5S standards.
• Focus on continuous improvement and problem solving.

Safety:

• Follow all Simpsonville Site Safety rules.
• Execute log out tag out procedures as necessary.
• Maintain work area to 5S (OLA) standards.
• Complete all assigned safety training – initial and ongoing.
• Wear proper PPE including safety shoes, safety glasses, ear protection, and any other designated PPE for individual tasks indicated in work instructions.

Physical Demands:

This position requires frequently lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds. The position requires frequent lifting, walks and stands for long periods of time, and performs strenuous physical labor under extreme temperatures. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
