Job Overview:As the General Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of the pub, ensuring a high standard of customer service, food and beverage quality, and operational efficiency. You will be responsible for managing a team of staff, creating and executing operational strategies, maintaining budgets and food costing, and ensuring an exceptional guest experience. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a passion for the hospitality industry, and a proven track record of managing a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all day-to-day operations of the restaurant, including staffing, customer service, inventory management, and financial performance.
- Ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, and guest service are consistently met.
- Hire, train, and develop staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Oversee scheduling, ensuring proper staffing levels are maintained at all times.
- Monitor and control operational costs, including labor, food, and beverage expenses, to achieve profitability targets.
- Create and execute marketing and promotional campaigns to attract new customers and retain existing ones.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with guests, addressing any concerns or feedback promptly and professionally.
- Manage vendor relationships, including ordering, inventory control, and delivery coordination.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and legal regulations.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff to encourage growth and development.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in restaurant management, with a strong preference for experience in Irish pubs or similar establishments.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets, payroll, and inventory.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
