Five Below Summer Internship Program is ON! Our limited open positions for Summer 2025 focus on company strategic initiatives in the exciting environment of value-driven, fun-focused retail. We are seeking energetic, responsible go-getters with innovative ideas, ready to actively participate in company initiatives.

Location :
In conjunction with WoWToWN’s current Ways of Working, we intend to offer a hybrid program for our interns, ensuring both a flexible and immersive experience. All applicants should plan to be in the Philadelphia area and transportation / access to our Home Office throughout the entirety of the program. (Increased flexibility during first 3 weeks of the program).
Internship Details :
13 weeks : May 12th - August 8th
Full time – 40 hours / wk (increased flexibility for the first 3 weeks)
Paid – $17 / hr
Greater Philadelphia location : approximately 3 days per week in our home office, located in Old City, Philadelphia
Hands on, results driven projects. No coffee fetching here!

Position Overview :
Over the course of 13 weeks, the Comms & Connections intern will serve as a content journalist to scope out people and stories that bring our brand and culture to life. They’ll use this research to pitch, build and execute a new content series for Five Below’s intranet platform, blending design and storytelling skills to create engaging content. Content may be used across multiple formats, including external channels like LinkedIn. The Comms & Connections intern will also provide key support for our annual Founders Day event in June.
Key Responsibilities :
Research & Content Strategy Pitch
Research and identify key people, stories, and events that embody the Five Below culture.
Develop and present a content strategy pitch that aligns with the brand’s goals and resonates with internal and external audiences.
Create an Engaging Multimedia Content Series
Utilize your creativity to design and produce a dynamic content series, blending storytelling with multimedia formats (e.g., video, audio, graphics).
Work with internal teams to gather insights and resources for content creation.
Launch & Measure Content Impact
Launch the content series on Five Below’s intranet platform and other relevant channels.
Measure the performance and impact of the series through analytics, and provide a recap report of results.
Support Founders Day Event
Assist with planning and execution for Five Below’s annual Founders Day event in June.
Provide support with content capture during the event, ensuring key moments are documented for future promotion and storytelling.
Qualifications :
Must be actively enrolled as a rising Junior, Senior, Grad Student or recent Grad with a background in Communications, Journalism, Graphic Design or related field
Minimum 3.0 GPA
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products & remote meeting software
Must have availability for the full 10-week program as space is limited
Must be a self-starter, highly passionate & detail-oriented
Active ability to problem-solve & communicate effectively
Knowledge and passion for our brand
Desired Skills :
Strong skills in multimedia content strategy and creation, copywriting, and graphic design. Experience with Canva and PowerPoint is preferred.
Knowledge of video / audio editing, content management, and intranet site design.
Ability to manage content strategy and contribute to project management, working with various stakeholders across the business.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail. Strong proofreading abilities are a must.
You should be a proactive, critical thinker with problem-solving skills, able to work independently and take initiative.
Comfort and flexibility in supporting event logistics and content capture during key events like Founders Day.
