Responsibilities:
- Greet customers and provide excellent customer service
- Operate cash register and handle cash transactions accurately
- Scan items, process payments, and issue receipts
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area
- Answer customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints
- Assist with bagging groceries or packaging items as needed
- Follow all company policies and procedures regarding cash handling and customer service
Qualifications:
- Strong time management skills to ensure efficient and timely transactions
- Proficiency in basic math to accurately calculate totals and give correct change
- Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems,
- Previous sales experience is a plus, especially in a food service or retail environment
- Knowledge of culinary terms and menu items for effective communication with customers
- Ability to upsell products or suggest additional items to enhance the customer experience
- Familiarity with bussing tables or cleaning duties in a restaurant setting is beneficial
