Five Keys Overview
Five Keys was founded in 2003 by the San Francisco Sheriffs Department as the first accredited charter high school in the nation to provide diploma programs for adults in county jails. Today we are a much different social justice non-profit agency that has expanded its charter schools into 9 counties, in 24 jail locations and over 80 community learning centers. In addition to our schools, now we also run multiple homeless shelters, employment programs, programs for the unsheltered, reentry programs and housing for women suffering from immense injustice.

Qualifications
JOB SUMMARY
The Transitional Coordinator position is accountable for overriding responsibility to support the Los Angeles transitional employment team with transitioning employees into full time employment. This position will be providing and expanding resources for veterans, formerly incarcerated as well as the disadvantaged, underserved, and underrepresented clients qualified for the program. It is the responsibility of each staff member to strive to raise the standard of professionalism to ensure the highest standards and opportunities are offered to our students, our teachers, and other administrative staff.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain case files for all participants that include enrollment and assessment information, Individual Career Plans (ICP), and records of attendance and completion of work-readiness classes
- Coordinate and/or facilitate work-readiness classes that includes the development of employment soft skills, interview preparation, and financial and digital literacy, maintaining accurate records of individual attendance and progress
- Work closely with Transitions Team, including Program Managers and field supervisors assisting the participants with obtaining gainful employment and entering back into the workforce
- Carry out duties and responsibilities in strict compliance with the terms and conditions required by program contracts
- Attend hiring events with managers as requested
- Obtain and strengthen partnerships with service providers in Los Angeles County and form relationships within the community to enhance the ability of providing additional supportive services needed for participants
- Attend Transition Team meetings to provide updates and status of current transitions and assigned projects
- Attend community events and meetings as requested
- Provide documentation of transitions and monthly reports as requested
- Support team with occasional change of hours and duties in order to fulfill contractual obligations
- Assist Director with Thursday night Group meetings if needed
- Assist the Director with a quarterly Transitional workshop as requested
- Once each funding period, ride along with field supervisors to shadow their role. In the event there is an emergency to fill the Supervisor position

- Experience successfully working with people representative of Five Keys students preferred
- The ability to find errors in detailed paperwork and efficiently work on administrative tasks
- Comfortable, mature and professional in interacting with diverse community partners, staff, students and colleagues with diverse heritage and backgrounds
- Willing, comfortable and able to work flexible hours
- A friendly and calm personality with the ability to communicate clearly to employees, staff members and partners (in writing and verbally)
- Willingness and ability to grow professionally, be accountable, to expand skills and adapt to evolving environments is required
- A commitment to the mission, vision and values of Five Keys is necessary along with an understanding of the challenges and needs of Five Keys employees.
- Knowledge of community resources and ability to network professionally
- Advanced proficiency in Zoom, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and databases
- Able to maintain strict confidentiality and take all precautions when handling sensitive information
- Ability to effectively and efficiently work from home and independently, with high levels of self-accountability
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- 1-2 years of experience in an office setting, performing administrative tasks, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 1-2 years of case management experience with diverse populations
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Travel to multiple sites required
- Must wear provided PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and adhere to all safety guidelines and requirements, when needed
- Frequent talking and hearing conversations
- Long periods of walking, sitting at a desk and/or computer station
- Lifting items that weigh up to 25 lbs.; reaching, bending, carrying and stooping within the daily routine of tasks and activities
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Moderate to high noise level
- Work environment varies from site to site
- Some personal safety risk working in underserved communities
- Must be willing and able to travel state-wide to various locations or meetings as needed
- Up to 30% travel to Five Keys locations throughout California as needed
