Job Summary:
We are seeking a caring, skilled, and dedicated Oral Surgery/Dental Assistant to join our team full-time. In this role, you will work in Orlando and assist our oral surgeons during various procedures. Your contribution will ensure our patients receive top-notch care and a positive experience from start to finish, while helping maintain the smooth operation of our practice.
Responsibilities:
- Assist oral surgeons with procedures like extractions, implants, and biopsies.
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and equipment.
- Sterilize instruments and maintain equipment following infection control guidelines.
- Provide patient education on pre- and post-operative care.
- Take and develop X-rays as needed.
- Record medical histories and vital signs accurately.
- Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
- Provide compassionate chair-side assistance.
- Manage inventory and order supplies.
- Ensure effective communication with patients to keep them informed and comfortable.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a dental assisting program preferred.
- Certification as a Dental Assistant (CDA) or Oral Surgery Assistant (OSA) preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience in oral surgery or dental assisting.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Current CPR certification.
- Ability to stay calm and professional under pressure.
- Proficiency in English (bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus).
