Five Points Bank in Kearney is seeking a Senior Teller/Personal Banker. The candidate will process deposits and pay out funds in accordance with bank procedures, assist customers with opening accounts, record all transactions accurately and balance each day’s operations while providing excellent customer service.
Job Duties:
- Receives cash and checks for deposit, verifies amounts, and looks for check endorsements. Examines cash carefully to guard against acceptance of counterfeit bills.
- Cashes check for customers after verifying identification and checking account balances in accordance with bank policy
- Open New Accounts (Checking, Savings, CD’s, IRA’s, HSA’s)
- Enters transactions into computer and issues customer receipts
- Counts cash balance at beginning of shift and balances cash and checks against computer records at end of shift
- Prepares certified checks, cashier’s checks, and gift cards as requested
- Explains bank services and charges to customers
- Process ATM deposits
- Observes suspicious behavior and report any such activity
- Assists customers in opening accounts and general customer service
- Balance coin machine, vault balancing including cash sales and money ordering
- Scanning deposits and payment transactions
- Daily balancing of all monetary instruments
- Assist in balancing of the ATM
- Greet and refer customers to appropriate bank personnel to meet their financial needs.
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- New Account/Banking experience preferred
- Excellent Customer Service skills
- Active Listening – Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
- Communication Skills – The ability to communicate effectively
- Mathematics – using mathematics to solve problems

- Administrative skills – basic computer skills including 10 key experience
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma (GED or High School Equivalence Certificate) with previous banking experience preferred.
Status/Standard Schedule: Hourly full-time position with varying hours Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and Saturday rotation.
