Guide and direct Manufacturing Facility functions to ensure efficient and cost-effective plant operations. Contributes to company growth, profitability and ensures that safety standards are met.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Direct employees in Manufacturing which also includes, purchasing, shipping, receiving, inventory departments in order to optimize productivity while reducing total cost of productions.
Offer ideas and plans to increase the manufacturing capacity of Five Star Airport Alliance in accordance with the company’s sales objectives.
Review manufacturing workload and forecasts to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, or duty assignments, while considering budgetary limitations and time constraints.
a) Evaluate and recommend the equipment necessary to improve and enhance Five Star Airport Alliance manufacturing capabilities.
b) Evaluate and improve Five Star Airport Alliance current manufacturing processes for improvements to quality, capacity and efficiency.
c) Evaluate and recommend changes to Five Star Airport Alliance conveyor design with the goal of improving the manufacturing of the product. Work closely with our manufacturing partners to further this development.
d) Oversee the quality assurance of produced materials.
e) Monitor and adjust order quantities, inventory levels and standard cost for items generated within MRP.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE
1. Production control: Coordinate with project management to optimize manufacturing schedules for all fabrication departments with a goal for on-time shipments.
2. Coordinate with Purchasing, Engineering and Manufacturing to reduce overall inventory levels yet maintain levels to ensure materials are available for production at an effective cost level.
3. Supervise the equipment maintenance, facility and ground maintenance and security to ensure that all Facility systems are properly maintained and in compliance with all safety statutes.
4. Manage continuous improvement in preventative maintenance and equipment changeover in order to improve productivity by minimizing downtime.
5. Maintain appropriate environmental, health, and safety standards of equipment set by OSHA standards.
6. Implement and develop departmental training and educational programs in order to maintain efficiency.
7. Direct manufacturing personnel in development of new product assembly equipment, interfacing directly with Engineering Services.
8. Hire, train, and assess the performance of workers.
9. Communicate with other departments, such as the financial department to establish budgets, HR department to hire new workers, or the logistics departments to ensure the delivery of products
10 Performs additional duties that may be required.
11. Production and Processing- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
12. Administration and Management-Knowledge of business and management principles that involve strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership techniques, production methods and coordination of people and resources.
13. Customer Service- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
· Degree in a related field and/or Manufacturing, Operations management, with a minimum of 5-10 years progressive experience.
· Knowledge/adherence to OSHA safety regulations.
· OSHA 30 General Industry Certification
· First Aid/CPR w/AED Certified.
· Fork Lift Certification
· Strong administrative, computer and communication skills to supervise manufacturing departments.
