The Finance Manager plays a pivotal role in managing the customer financing lifecycle for equipment and service offerings. This individual ensures the seamless integration of financing options into the customer journey while empowering the field staff with the knowledge and tools necessary to communicate financing opportunities effectively. A strong focus on platform development, training, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) will ensure scalable, repeatable success across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Financing Oversight
- Manage the financing programs offered to customers for purchasing home service equipment and services.
- Collaborate with third-party financing partners to ensure smooth application processes, approvals, and tracking.
- Monitor financing approval rates and optimize offerings to improve customer accessibility.
- Develop and conduct ongoing training sessions for field staff on how to present financing options to customers confidently and accurately.
- Create educational materials, scripts, and quick-reference guides to support field team interactions.
- Evaluate team proficiency and adjust training accordingly to improve conversion rates and compliance.
- Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all processes related to customer financing.
- Design and implement SOPs across three financing platforms, ensuring consistency and compliance across all customer touchpoints.
- Coordinate platform integrations with internal systems (e.g., CRM, service scheduling, and accounting tools).
- Analyze key metrics such as approval rates, utilization, customer satisfaction, and field team adoption.
- Provide regular performance reports to senior leadership with actionable insights.
- Identify trends and recommend improvements to optimize financing strategy and field team effectiveness.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's preferred)
- 3 years of experience in financial management or customer financing, ideally within the home services or construction industry
- Must have existing relationships with third-party financing partners
- Experience developing SOPs and leading cross-functional training initiatives
- Familiarity with customer financing platforms (e.g., Upgrade, Goodleap, Synchrony, Blue Tree etc.)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Proficiency with CRM and training platforms (e.g., Salesforce, ServiceTitan, Trainual, etc.)
- Deep understanding of home services sales processes
- Comfort with data analysis and using insights to drive process improvement
- Ability to lead change and gain buy-in from cross-functional stakeholders
