Job Title: Cleaning and First Impressions Specialist

Reports To: The Business Office, and Program & Camp Director

Job Summary: Responsible for the cleaning and presentation of all Five Star Life facilities to the highest level. Responsible for ensuring that all Five Star Life facilities are maintaining a tour-ready status at all times and are kept ready for student programming at all times. Must be knowledgeable about Five Star Life’s Programs, practices and procedures. Must embody all Five Star Life Core Values (respect, responsibility, integrity, sacrifice, and courage) in and outside of the workplace.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Cleaning (85%)

  • Complete indoor cleaning of all Five Star Life facilities: dusting, vacuuming, window-washing, complete surface cleaning, floor cleaning, moving furniture, trash removal, common/light facility maintenance, etc.
  • Complete outdoor cleaning of all Five Star Life facilities: pulling weeds, leaf blowing, minor snow removal, ice salting, sweeping and cleaning walkways, window-washing, power-washing, screen removal, common/light facility maintenance, etc.

2. System Development (5%)

  • Develop effective and efficient systems to establish routine cleanings of all Five Star Life facilities.
  • Work with the programming team to establish and work to meet the cleaning needs for Five Star Life events.
  • Develop checklists and systematic approaches to logging cleaning tasks, cleaning schedules, cleaning needs, and task completion.
  • Develop and execute weekly cleaning plans and schedules that reflect the needs of routine upkeep, property check report needs, and event preparation needs.

3. Property Checks (5%)

  • Complete thorough checks of all Summit families on a routine basis, reporting all findings in the property check report form.
  • Check Five Star Life facilities for cleaning needs in order to create weekly plans and schedules that reflect the needs of the facility statuses.

4. Other Tasks as Directed by Supervisors (5%)

  • Five Star Life Staff Curriculum
  • Five Star Life Staff workdays
  • Service Days
  • Etc.

  • Reliable transportation between properties - which include the Five Star Life Office (Elkhart, IN), Summit Commercial Areas (Union, MI), and the Five Star Life Early Learning Center (Osceola, IN)
  • Heartfelt desire to encourage others to live their best life - the Five Star Life

Compensation: $14-18/hr - starting rate based on experience

Required Availability:

  • Full-Time (30-40 hours per week); Varying Schedule (Days needed may change; may include some occasional Saturdays)
  • Part-Time (10-30 hours per week); Varying Schedule (Days needed may change; may include some occasional Saturdays)

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

  • Cleaning: 2 years (Required)

License/Certification:

  • Driver's License (Required)

Shift availability:

  • Day Shift (Required)

Ability to Commute:

  • Union, MI 49130 (Required)
