Position Overview:
The Houseman plays a vital role in supporting our housekeeping team. This position involves assisting with general housekeeping duties such as trash removal, balcony cleaning, heavy lifting, laundry management, and ensuring that all guest areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness. You will also assist with special projects as directed by the manager to ensure all areas of the property are prepared and well-maintained for our guests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist Room Attendants and Turndown Attendants with soiled linen, trash removal, and other housekeeping duties as required.
- Clean and sanitize balconies, walkways, stairwells, and common areas.
- Perform spot cleaning and remove spider mites from walls, doors, and other surfaces.
- Assist in rotating mattresses, moving furniture, and obtaining and delivering necessary amenities to guest suites as directed by the manager.
- Ensure linen rooms are neat and orderly, and assist in stocking and maintaining room attendant carts with fresh linens and supplies.
- Collect and wash all glassware, returning it to the appropriate storage areas.
- Assist with heavy lifting of laundry bags (30-50 lbs) and ensure proper handling and delivery to designated locations.
- Report any safety concerns or maintenance issues to the manager immediately.
- Work with the linen truck delivery team and assist with the linen chute as needed.
- Assist with deep cleaning and special projects, such as moving furniture and preparing guest rooms for VIPs or special occasions.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.
- Assist in other areas of the hotel as necessary, including lobby attendant, house attendant, and/or runner, as directed by management.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to lift and carry 30-50 lbs regularly.
- Minimum one year of experience in a housekeeping department or similar role.
- Strong commitment to providing superior customer service and ensuring a luxury guest experience.
- Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong initiative, self-motivation, and reliability.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- An appreciation and respect for diversity in the workplace.
- Prior experience working in a luxury or upscale hotel environment is a plus.

Pay: $15.50 - $16.75 per hour
