Position Summary

This is a mid-level hybrid role combining both Preconstruction Estimating and Business Development responsibilities. We're looking for a candidate with a minimum of 3 years' experience in construction estimating or business development (commercial painting or subcontractor experience preferred), who brings an established book of business and a passion for growing client relationships and project pipelines.

The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial and strategic, capable of shaping and expanding the department as goals are met.

Key ResponsibilitiesPreconstruction / Estimating

• Analyze architectural drawings, specs, and scopes of work.

• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and prepare cost estimates for labor and materials.

• Solicit and review subcontractor/vendor pricing for bid proposals.

• Prepare comprehensive bid packages and formal client-facing proposals.

• Track and follow up on submitted bids to drive conversion rates.

• Collaborate with operations for seamless project transitions.

Business Development

• Identify and develop new business opportunities through networking, industry outreach, and lead generation.

• Build and maintain long-term relationships with GCs, developers, property managers, and facility owners.

• Attend industry events and meetings to promote company capabilities.

• Prepare and deliver marketing materials, capability statements, and presentations.

• Maintain and utilize CRM systems for lead tracking and follow-ups.

Growth and Leadership Track

• Lead preconstruction and business development efforts in a specific region or market sector.

• Mentor and develop junior team members as the department scales.

• Contribute to strategic planning and revenue growth initiatives.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 3 years of experience in estimating, construction, or business development.

• Established book of business and proven client relationship management skills.

• Strong understanding of commercial painting and subcontractor operations preferred.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.

• Tech-savvy with Microsoft Office Suite and estimating tools (Bluebeam, PlanSwift, etc.).

• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.

• Demonstrated ability to develop and grow a department over time.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $55,000 – $85,000 (commensurate with experience)

• Bonus: Annual performance-based bonus (5–10%)
