What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Test Engineer position at Five Star Recruiting and Staffing?
Our client is looking for someone to provide design, technical analysis, and implementation of automated test equipment for printed circuit board assemblies and cable assemblies as well as support the manufacturing process.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
Concept Designs & Feasibility Studies
Brainstorm new ideas and create new tester designs with the engineering and design teams.
Improve efficiency and performance of existing product lines.
Design and build automated test fixtures utilizing Lab View and other equipment.
Evaluate new schematic design and PCB layouts for test optimization.
Contribute to Design for Test review meetings.
Support for Testing and Manufacturing
Prepare Bill of Materials, schematics, cad files, PCB files and programming for automated testers.
Troubleshoot, inspect, support, and provide solutions as necessary for the cable assembly and PCBA processes.
Analyze production failures, document, propose corrective actions, and create reports, as necessary.
Provide training assistance to the production team on automated and manual test processes.
Create manual test processes and instructions.
Develop new production test strategies; assist in design of necessary manufacturing test equipment; manage the execution of production testing; report on results of internal & external production testing.
Provide support for production release for test specifications, analysis tools, and test work instructions.
Team Building
Capable of working in a team environment as well as delegate and manage subordinate engineers and technicians.
Project management.
Confront issues in a constructive and timely manner at an appropriate organizational level.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS :
5 years of Electrical test, manufacturing, troubleshooting, process support.
B.S. in Electrical Engineering preferred, A.S. with applicable job experience considered.
Basic time management computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
AutoCad, PCB Design software, or similar design software experience.
Lab View experience preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills required with the ability to prepare written specifications and contract documents.
