What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Manager position at Five Star Swim School?
Five Star Swim School is seeking a strong General Manager with excellent leadership and communication skills. We are looking for a candidate that possesses prior management experience as well as knowledge and experience in the aquatics industry.
This is a full time position with the required hours being four weekdays 1-8:30pm as well as one weekend day 8am-3pm. This is an approximate schedule.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Hire, train, and oversee employees. Create a team that is effective and happy!
- Create work schedule making sure each day is properly staffed with swim instructors, lifeguards, and front desk staff.
- Ensure the facility is clean, safe, and up to all codes
- Have strong customer service skills with current and potential new families
- Work as a team with assistant manager and delegate tasks to ensure success
- Greet and engage with families; form bonds and create a positive environment. Be a presence in the facility that promotes our brand
- Maintain pool cleanliness and chemical levels for safe bathing (CPO certification preferred or willingness to obtain)
- Keep track of revenue and monthly billing for customers
- Be ready and willing to step in to fill any position that is deemed necessary for operations including swim instructor or lifeguard.
- Certifications preferred or willing to obtain: CPO/TPO, Red Cross Lifeguard
