Assistant Vice President of Virtual Operations

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for overseeing the operations of virtual services. Organizes, plans, directs and controls all functions of virtual operations. Implements appropriate policies, procedures, and training to ensure efficient and effective virtual operations.  Promotes optimal and cost-effective operations.  Ensures that members are promptly and professionally served.  Oversees provision of a full range of services to members and prospective members. Directs and coaches virtual operations managers.  Maintains daily operations in a consistent manner.  Assists the Vice President of Operations with virtual operations budgets. 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Assumes responsibility for the development and implementation of effective and efficient virtual operations planning. 
  • Assists VP of Operations with long and short-term Virtual Operations planning. 
  • Ensures that credit union goals are complemented and supported.
  • Help develop and implement operational plans, policies, procedures and goals that further strategic objectives.
  • Meets with Virtual Operations Managers systematically to evaluate and redefine goals for effective virtual operations.   
  • Ensures that auditing procedures are effectively conducted and that deficiencies are corrected.
  • Ensures that virtual operations are completed in accordance with established Credit Union procedures and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Ensures that services are sold and delivered in accordance with established standards and procedures and the integrity and quality of all Credit Union programs are maintained. 
  • Effectively supervises personnel, ensuring optimal performance. 
  • Provides leadership to virtual operations managers and personnel through effective objective setting, delegation and communication.
  • Instructs personnel regarding policy, procedure, and program changes. 
  • Conducts performance reviews as required. Suggests and implements corrective actions, as needed.
  • Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective coordination with area personnel and with management. 
  • Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant problems or concerns.
  • Ensures the virtual operations activities are well coordinated with total Credit Union operations.

    NON-ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

    • Assumes responsibility for ensuring that professional business relations are established and maintained with members, the community, and professional contacts. 
    • Ensures that the Credit Union’s quality reputation is maintained and projected. 
    • Ensures that requests and questions are promptly and courteously resolved. 
    • Ensures that members are informed of Credit Union services and policies. 
    • Stays informed of developments and trends in Credit Union policies and related laws and regulations. 
    • Ensures that safety standards are followed. 
    • Ensures that equipment and supplies are maintained at appropriate levels. 

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    Education/Certification:     

    • Associate’s degree in Finance, Business, Management, or a related field or equivalent experience.  

    Required Knowledge:        

    • Thorough knowledge of credit union services and delivery methods.
    • Familiarity with virtual operations, functions, policies, and products. 
    • Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements.

    Experience Required:            

    • Two years financial institution experience.
    • Five years of operational experience within the financial industry.
    • Five years of supervisory experience.

    Skills/Abilities:                        

    • Strong supervisory and leadership skills. 
    • Solid analytical abilities.
    • Good organizational and problem-solving abilities.
    • Excellent interpersonal communications skills. 

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    Education/Certification: 

    • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business management, or a related field or equivalent experience.  

    Preferred Knowledge:        

    • None

    Experience Preferred:             

    • Two years credit union experience.

    PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION
    FINGER DEXTERITY: Using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together. 
    TALKING: Especially where one must frequently convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly. 
    REPETITIVE MOTIONS: Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. 
    AVERAGE HEARING: Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information. 
    AVERAGE VISUAL ABILITIES: Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery. 
    PHYSICAL STRENGTH: Sedentary work; sitting most of the time.  Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally. (Almost all office jobs.)
     
    WORKING CONDITIONS
    None:  No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions (such as in a typical office).
