What are the responsibilities and job description for the Precision Machine Tools Field Service Specialist position at Fives Giddings & Lewis, LLC?
This role involves providing technical support for Fives manufactured equipment in various locations. The primary responsibility is to demonstrate and service the machines under general instructions.
The key duties of this position include installing, demonstrating, qualifying, repairing, or altering independently Fives machines or associated equipment in customer facilities. This involves following verbal or written instructions from Tech Support, Service Coordinator, or Service Manager, or using information contained in drawings, service documentation, or user manuals.
To ensure machine accuracy and quality are within specifications, you will operate the machines and associated equipment in customer facilities to demonstrate or qualify equipment. You will also observe qualification runs conducted by customer personnel and notify Tech Support or Service Coordinator when deviations from specifications occur or when problems are encountered.
You will instruct customer personnel on operating, maintaining, and/or repairing machines and equipment, emphasizing necessary safety precautions. Additionally, you will provide input for the improvement and development of company products.
Regular attendance and the ability to work overtime or on off-shifts as required by business needs are essential. This role also involves interacting with other people on a routine basis, including customers and vendors, both nationally and internationally.
Requirements:
- An Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent; two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a passport and credit card.
- Ability to read and understand international print symbols.
- ISO 9001 &14001 awareness and compliance.
