- Responsible for cleaning, prepping, and painting parts.

- Proactively maintains a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
- Movement of parts to necessary locations using overhead cranes and/or forklift.
- Safe handling and protection of parts to ensure no damage.
- Maintain clean and orderly work area.
- Ability to represent the business in a positive manner with suppliers and customers.
- Make crane hookups and operate floor operated cranes as required to move or roll workpieces.
- Maintain equipment as required.
- Detect unusual conditions, defective material or machine malfunctions and report to proper supervision.
- Level machine unit assemblies to required tolerances.
- Follows written assembly procedures.
- Unit assembly work as required.
- Interprets guidance, area priorities & communicates with other departments in absence of supervisor.
- Recommends design improvements, seeks to increase efficiencies in different work areas.
- Serves as the subject-matter expert for cleaning and paint requirements.
- Mixes different types, brands & colors of paint to proper viscosity and apply to parts.
- Steam cleans parts of varying sizes and shapes.
- Creates, updates and maintains internal procedures and documentation for the clean, pain &assembly areas.
- Updates paint and filter logs to ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Monitors inventory levels of consumable products in the paint/clean area on a weekly basis
- Grinding, Bondo application, and sanding of large components as required
- Paint and Bondo work similar to auto body craftsmanship.
- ISO 9001 &14001 awareness and compliance
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Forklift certification
- Overhead crane certification
- Maintain administrative records.
- Familiar with electronic business systems (SAP, HK, etc.)
- Basic Microsoft Word skills required. Microsoft Excel a plus.
- Work with English and Metric measurements
- Operate gages such as OD & ID micrometers, verniers, gage blocks, etc.
- Basic blueprint reading skills.
- Continual use of hand tools for various operations – drill, tap, reem, file, chip, fit, straighten, etc.
- Operate small machines – lathe, grinder, drill press, belt sander, etc.
- Experience in Bondo application
- Operate grinding and sanding equipment.
- Operate paint gun, use paint brush and rollers.
- Operate power tools on a continual basis for entire days at a time.
- Ability to interpret supervisor’s priorities to get jobs done on time and make recommended changes to schedule if required.
- Ability to interface with multiple areas on the shop floor without supervisor assistance
