This position is accountable for developing quotations that include accurate technical content, costing and delivery requirements; maintaining correspondence and customer contact; and monitoring progress for machine projects.
Scope And Responsibilities
Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Develop clear and concise documentation to include but limited to; proposals, letters, work orders, presentations, and value selling tools.
- Interface with engineering, purchasing, contract administration, accounting and operations to provide accurate and professional responses to our customer’s requirements.
- Travel to customer facilities to understand customer requirements and gather critical information in order to provide a complete proposal for our customer.
- Responsible to review all contract requirements against Fives Giddings & Lewis proposal, including any negotiated modification and translation requirements to the internal document “Work Order”.
- Conduct business meetings, host customers during the day and evenings and present product information to large groups of people at all levels of our and the customer’s organizations.
- Promote selling of all Fives Giddings & Lewis products.
- Provide input on market demands, competitive pricing, and develop selling strategies against our competition to increase market share.
- Manage sold projects to achieve plan for scope and schedule.
- ISO 9001 &14001 awareness and compliance
- Associate's Degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 4 - 6 years related experience and/or training.
- Prefer Mechanical or Manufacturing / Industrial Engineering.
- Prefer related experience and/or training in a manufacturing environment.
- Attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Proven polish and professionalism
- Ability to read part drawings (blueprints)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Prefer part processing, fixturing and /or application experience with Machine Tools
- Ability to travel up to 10%
