Job Responsibilities:
- Purchase Order Management:
- Create, review, and issue purchase orders based on requisitions and inventory levels.
- Monitor and manage purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and accuracy.
- Resolve any discrepancies between purchase orders and supplier invoices.
- Supplier Relations:
- Obtain and evaluate quotes from suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and quality.
- Establish and maintain relationships with new and existing suppliers.
- Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and address any issues that arise.
- Supplier Vetting:
- Research and assess potential suppliers to ensure they meet the company's standards for quality, reliability, and ethical practices.
- Perform supplier audits and evaluations as required.
- Database Management:
- Maintain an up-to-date supplier database, including contact information, pricing, and performance records.
- Ensure accurate documentation of all procurement activities and maintain records for compliance and reporting.
- Cost Analysis:
- Analyze market trends and product availability to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Implement cost reduction strategies while maintaining quality standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with other departments such as operations, engineering, and finance to align procurement activities with company goals.
- Provide support and input for new product development and project planning.
- Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and contractual agreements.
- Prepare reports and presentations on procurement activities, supplier performance, and cost savings.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Ideally a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Buyer in an OEM organization or a similar role. Will consider someone who is entry level with strong Internship experience as well.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience with ERP systems.
