At Fives your role will be to:
- Support purchasing in freight carrier negotiations to optimize costs and secure favorable contractual terms.
- Manage third-party logistics service providers responsible for transportation, storage, and warehousing functions.
- Establish and implement internal procedures to mitigate risks associated with import/export operations.
- Monitor shipments closely and provide release, payment, and delivery instructions within specified timeframes.
- Process customs entries, classify invoices, file Remote Location Filing (RLF) entries, and enter electronic invoices
- Conduct thorough reviews of shipping documentation, ensuring accuracy in Customs classification, I.T. numbers, commercial invoices, and other details
- Perform Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification reviews and verify customs valuations
- Monitor customs release details and proactively address discrepancies
- Maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) for customs brokers and freight forwarders
- Monitor export compliance of freight forwarders and assist with corrective actions as needed.
- Track shipments and ensure timely release, payment, and delivery within free time limits
- Manage exceptions, disputes, and communication between all parties involved, ensuring seamless resolution
- Address customer inquiries and service requests in alignment with company standards and guidelines
- Review freight invoices for accuracy, clarity, and approval.
- Maintain real-time tracking and traceability of shipments using proprietary applications.
- Monitor delivery times, transport costs, and overall efficiency.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness of deliveries.
- Prepare and present reports for senior management regarding logistics operations and performance metrics.
