This position reports to the Senior Manager of Retail Operations.WHAT YOU WILL DOAs the Retail Operations Manager, you will oversee key operational, construction, and real estate initiatives for our North American Brand Stores. You will collaborate with various teams - including real estate, legal, store design, inventory, IT, and marketing - to ensure seamless store operations and strong financial performance.Your role would include : Operations Management Develop and maintain future store projection P&L statements, accounting for buildout costs and labor projectionsMonitor financial performance, providing weekly sales and performance reports and monthly / quarterly profitability analysesCreate and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for store processes, labor management, and retail systemsPartner with IT to resolve store technology challenges and support ERP rolloutOversee store sound systems, ensuring music selection and functionality align with brand standardsEnsure operational efficiency and profitability by proactively identifying areas for improvementConstruction & Store DevelopmentCollaborate on new store openings, expansions, renovations, and closures, ensuring projects align with Fjällräven's strategic goalsWork with architects, designers, and contractors to secure competitive bids while maintaining brand standardsTrack project timelines, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring final costs remain within 5% of initial estimatesMaintain project trackers and status reports, keeping internal teams informed on construction progressUtilize design software (SketchUp, AutoCAD, or similar) to conceptualize store layouts and branding elementsEnsure store business licenses are up to date and regulatory requirements are metReal Estate Strategy & Lease ManagementDevelop a site selection framework to identify and evaluate potential new store locationsPartner with real estate teams to negotiate new leases, renewals, and expansion opportunitiesConduct site surveys and feasibility studies for potential buildoutsMaintain an 18-month pipeline for new store locations while tracking lease expirations and renewal optionsAnalyze lease terms to determine whether to extend, relocate, or close stores based on market conditions and financial performanceWHO YOU AREExperienced : At least five years in retail operations, and / or at least one year in a retail managerial roleStrategic thinker : Strong ability to manage budgets, analyze lease agreements, and plan store expansionsOrganized and detail-oriented : Skilled at project management, balancing multiple timelines and stakeholdersTechnology proficient : Familiar with retail IT systems, inventory processes, and storeforce platforms Adaptable and solution-oriented : Thrives in a fast-paced environment, solving problems with creativity and efficiencyTravel-ready : Willing and able to travel across North America and occasionally to Europe, up to 40% of the time as neededDriver's license required : Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to pass a driving record checkWHAT WE OFFERClick here to learn more about Fjällräven benefits like : A stimulating work environment with passionate, enthusiastic co-workersOpportunities for personal and professional growth that will elevate your careerA company that treasures sustainability and acts to create future stewards of natureMedical, Dental, Vision, Critical Illness, Accident401k with generous company matchGenerous schedule of company-paid holidaysProduct discounts on all Fenix Outdoor brandsIndustry discounts and more...ABOUT USFor over 60 years, Fjällräven has been committed to inspiring people to spend more time in nature through high-quality outdoor gear.
