With a focus on best-in-class facilities and outstanding service, we strive to create a memorable environment both on and off the golf course. Inspiration of our two 18-hole courses comes from Heathland Golf in England and Cocking's native Australian sand belt. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Superintendent to join our team and uphold the quality and reputation of our golf course.
Position Summary: The Short Course Superintendent will be responsible for the overall maintenance and management of the 9-hole short course and its related facilities. This includes planning, organizing, and supervising all aspects of course maintenance, ensuring that the course remains in top condition year-round. The Superintendent will work closely with the Director of Agronomy, Director of Golf, Director of Operations to meet the needs and expectations of our members while managing a skilled maintenance team.
Key Responsibilities:

Course Maintenance and Management:
- Oversee the daily maintenance of the golf course, including greens, tees, fairways, bunkers, and roughs.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance plan, including mowing, fertilization, irrigation, pest control, and aeration.
- Monitor and manage turf health, soil conditions, and overall course playability.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability practices.

Staff Supervision and Management:
- Recruit, train, and supervise maintenance staff, including equipment operators and laborers.
- Create and manage staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage and productivity.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and development opportunities for staff.

Budget and Resource Management:
- Prepare and submit annual maintenance budget, including labor, materials, and equipment costs to Director of Agronomy for review and apprval.
- Order and manage inventory of supplies and equipment, ensuring cost-effective and efficient use of resources.
- Maintain and repair course maintenance equipment as needed.

Course Improvement and Planning:
- Develop and implement long-term plans for course improvement and renovation projects.
- Collaborate with the club’s leadership team to plan and execute seasonal enhancements and special projects.

Member and Guest Relations:
- Interact with members and guests to address any course-related issues or concerns.
- Ensure a high level of satisfaction with course conditions and address any feedback or complaints promptly.

Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere to all safety regulations and practices to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities, chemical applications, and equipment usage.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Turf Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in golf course maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Certifications: Pesticide applicator’s license required.
