What are the responsibilities and job description for the Forklift Operator position at FL Crane and Sons?

We are based out of Fulton MS and operate 14 divisions throughout the southeastern part of the US. Education and/or Work Experience
- Operate forklifts or other equipment to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse or production facility
- Safely pick, wrap, and stage orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy and quality. Handle materials in a manner that prevents damage
- Assist in managing inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials in proper locations within the warehouse. Conduct regular cycle counts and inventory audits as needed
- Perform routine maintenance on forklift and other equipment as necessary
- Adhere to all safety guidelines, including the safe operation of forklifts, and report any safety hazards or incidents immediately
- Complete all required documentation, such as shipping and receiving logs, accurately and promptly
- Work closely with supervisors and other departments to ensure smooth and efficient operations
- Participate in training programs and stay up-to-date with safety regulations and industry best practices
Education and/or Work Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Prior experience operating a forklift in a construction or warehouse environment(preferred)
- Ability to follow verbal instructions
- Ability to read color labels and identify products
- Ability to read tape measure
- Ability to use saw, nail guns, and other hand tools
- Basic math skills
- Forklift training
- Ability to count
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to forklift operation
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work collaboratively with others
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Ability to lift and move heavy materials, up to 50 pounds
