This position will work closely with the front office, call center staff, and billing team to provide a collaborative and effective work environment. The specialist will play a key role in ensuring accurate insurance verification and eligibility for admitted clients, maintaining our mission of providing exceptional patient care.

Minimum Qualifications
- Preferred experience in insurance verification within a medical office setting.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong understanding of administrative and clerical procedures.
- Proven ability to collaborate across departments and build effective relationships with internal and external customers.
- Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
- Ability to achieve team goals while demonstrating organizational values and utilizing resources efficiently.
- Proactive and able to take initiative in addressing tasks and challenges.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with exceptional interpersonal communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate patient demographic information in the electronic client record (eCR) system.
- Verify insurance eligibility for admitted clients by utilizing online tools or contacting insurance carriers directly.
- Review patient deductibles and copayments, entering the data into billing systems and spreadsheets.
- Coordinate with the front-end staff regarding required authorizations, including Medicaid restrictions.
- Assist front-end and call center staff in understanding carrier websites and verifying insurance eligibility.
- Enter insurance referrals as needed and ensure accurate tracking.
- Participate in the development of organizational procedures and assist in updating forms and manuals.
- Respond to questions from patients, staff, and insurance companies regarding insurance verification.
- Collaborate with the billing department to ensure the accuracy of claims submissions.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned, including attending educational sessions and monthly staff meetings.
- Maintain strict confidentiality, adhering to all HIPAA regulations and guidelines.
- Assist in the development and communication of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to improve process accuracy and efficiency.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks, while also accepting direction and guidance on team assignments.
- Proficiency with computers and relevant software applications.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and sound judgment in decision-making.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and verification tasks.
