Job Summary:
The Press Brake Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining press brake machines to shape and form metal materials according to specifications. Job Duties and Responsibilities
Machine Operation:
- Set up and operate press brake machines to bend, cut, and manipulate metal sheets and plates.
- Adjust machine settings for various types of metals and specific project requirements.
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed to maintain accuracy.
- Measuring press brake operators work with multiple measuring tools and make precise measurements using metric and the US measuring systems, which require strong measuring skills
Material Handling:
- Load and unload materials such as metal sheets or plates onto the machine.
- Inspect raw materials to ensure they meet quality standards before processing.
- Safely handle materials to avoid damage or injury.
Quality Assurance:
- Perform regular inspections of finished products to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards.
- Mathematics press brake operators, use math skills to read and interpret blueprints that contain precise measurements, and to make the calculations necessary to shape metal to match these specific designs
- Identify and resolve issues in production processes to maintain high-quality output.
- Document any deviations and communicate them to supervisors or the quality assurance team.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Perform routine maintenance on press brake machines, including cleaning and lubrication.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and work with maintenance teams to resolve complex problems.
Safety and Compliance:
- Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
