Job Summary :
The company a leading aerospace manufacturing company is seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient CNC Lathe Machinist Level 2 to join our team in Gardena CA. As a Level 2 Machinist you will be responsible for advanced programming setup and operation of CNC lathe machines to manufacture highprecision aerospace components. This position requires deep expertise in CNC operations strong problemsolving skills and the ability to work with complex geometries and materials.
Key Responsibilities :
- Set up operate and program CNC lathe machines to manufacture parts with complex geometries and tight tolerances based on blueprints technical drawings and CAD models.
- Develop and optimize CNC programs using Gcode and Mcode for both new and existing jobs ensuring maximum efficiency and quality.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and maintenance of CNC machines to resolve issues quickly and minimize production downtime.
- Work with various materials including exotic alloys such as titanium stainless steel and Inconel to meet specific aerospace manufacturing standards.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measurement tools like micrometers calipers CMMs (coordinate measuring machines) and other gauges to ensure they meet stringent quality standards.
- Interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications to determine the correct machining operations tool selections and setups.
- Work closely with engineers production planners and quality control teams to improve machining processes and product designs.
- Train and mentor lowerlevel machinists on machine setup programming and troubleshooting techniques ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to support continuous improvement initiatives and implement Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Document all production activities including setup sheets inspection results and machine adjustments in accordance with company standards.
