Job Duties and Responsibilities
The Wastewater Operator will oversee the process needed to keep the facility in compliance with required permits.
- Read charts, flow meters, and gauges to detect equipment malfunctions.
- Monitors wastewater plant equipment
- Collect samples, make process reports, and perform minor repairs on equipment.
- Conducts and documents all required regulatory inspections of waste areas, e.g. daily, weekly, monthly inspections.
- Work under direct supervision on duties and tasks that are standardized, selecting from written instructions and established procedures.
- Resolve routine questions and problems, referring more complex issues to higher levels.
- Apply basic and develop advanced skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and / or equipment, as appropriate to area of specialization.
- Parts to be lifted and / or transported may weigh up to 30 lbs.
- Keeps work area clean, safe and in an orderly fashion on a daily basis.
- Performs other tasks of equal or lesser skill as required.
