We are looking to hire a Purchasing Assisatnt in the City of Industry, CA . This is a Contract to Hire opportunity to join our Purchasing department.
Schedule: Mon-Friday (8am-5pm)
Pay Rate: $24-27.00/hour
Position: Purchasing Assistant
A Flexible Packaging Manufacturer in the City of Industry, CA is seeking a Purchasing Assistant to help with the purchasing of raw materials, maintenance parts and other items.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- High school graduate, computer literate on Excel, Word and Outlook programs.
- Good typing skills, 10-key by sight, good verbal and written communication, fluently Bi-Lingual English/Spanish.
- Must possess a minimum of one year of purchasing experience preferably in manufacturing.
- Also, can work in a very fast-paced environment.
IDEAL CANDIDATE (SKILLS): Individual must be a hard-working person, have good organization skills, be reliable, fast learner, detail oriented with initiative and ability to receive instruction and work independently.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Purchase raw materials and maintenance parts for a manufacturing facility. Check prices against multiple vendors looking for the best deal. Search on the web.
- Key purchase orders, scan and e-mail to vendor, get confirmations, keep requestor informed of delivery date, match packing slip to purchase orders, close PO's on log and make copies for A/P.
- Gather required documents from vendors for film and resin additives: packing slip (P/S), bill of lading (BOL), certificate of analysis (COA), technical data sheet, material safety data sheet (MSDS).
- Keep an updated list of items on order and received for Production Mgr. Help manage the ordering and transferring of supplies to satellite facilities.
- Excel duties (partial list): Create PO's, forms, lists and maintain spreadsheets using basic formulas. Generate tracking reports and month end reports using pivot tables etc.
TRAINING:
Candidate will be properly trained for all of the duties he/she will be required to perform.
DRESS CODE:
Employee should dress comfortably in flat closed toed shoes since they will be walking through production departments and shipping/receiving. They must completely adhere to the AIB Food Safely internal policies and standards required in all plant and production areas.
