What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Staff Accountant position at Flagger Force?
Flagger Force, an industry leader in traffic control, is currently hiring a Senior Staff Accountant. This position will operate out of our corporate campus, located in Hummelstown, PA.
The Senior Accountant assists in overseeing all aspects of the daily/monthly accounting processes including financial statement preparation, accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger. The Senior Staff Accountant is also responsible for assisting in interpreting and analyzing financial metrics focusing on revenue, profitability, and expense control while acting in accordance with company values, vision and mission.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Review the financial statements for all company entities for accuracy and ensure on-time distribution of the statements to all appropriate parties.
- Manage and correct errors or misallocations in financial statements. Develop processes to reduce error repeatability in the future.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes ensuring each process is met within company determined timeline and standards.
- Assist in managing the bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist in interpreting financial metrics and developing best practices to enhance financial performance.
- Assist in monthly financial reporting and analysis
- Use advanced excel tools (queries, data models) to complete analysis and create efficiencies
- Assist in the preparation for the year end audit as well as the payroll audits
- Cover for team members in back-up role for vacation and/or high-volume work efforts.
- Oversee the timely updates to 401k plans for LLC employees. Identify and communicate any weekly discrepancies to Financial Reporting Supervisor
- Meet operational standards by contributing information to strategic plans and reviews, resolves problems and identifies system improvements, as needed.
- Train and mentor new staff members on the department tasks as needed
- Perform special projects as needed or assigned by Financial Reporting Supervisor or Senior Management
- Additional reporting, analytics, auditing as required
