What are the responsibilities and job description for the Call Taker I position at Flagler County Sheriff's Office?

Duties and Responsibilities:
Completes required certification courses successfully as listed below.
Answers all incoming telephones on a multi-line system including both administrative lines and E911 emergency lines.
Handles fire/rescue related radio traffic for multiple units and calls for service.
Ensures that CAD calls properly reflect any updates as well as correct unit statuses.
Screens information to determine the nature of the call, priority, jurisdiction and continual documentation of activity.
Develops and maintains working knowledge of highways, streets, buildings, and major points of interest in the County and adjacent areas.
Develops and maintains working knowledge of CAD, multi-trunk phone and radio systems.
Responds to the public, law enforcement, fire/rescue units, fellow workers and all other agencies professionally, using good customer skills, remaining polite and calm at all times.
Develops and fosters a positive working rapport with direct and in-direct customers, the public and co-workers.
Completes all task given by Communications Management or direct supervisor to the best of their abilities.
Abides by FCSO General Orders.
Adheres to Federal, State and Local ordinances.
Performs all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from High School or possession of a High School Equivalency Diploma recognized by the State of Florida
